ARTICLE VI

Section 4.0 0 [Last Modified: 1/1/2003]

4. The term of office of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, State Auditor, Attorney General, State Treasurer, State Examiner and Inspector, and Superintendent of Public Instruction shall be four years from the second Monday of January next after their election. The Governor, Secretary of State; State Auditor, and State Treasurer shall not be eligible immediately to succeed themselves. The term of the State officers chosen at the first election under this Constitution shall begin on the day on which the State is admitted into the Union, and expire on the second Monday of January, in the year Nineteen Hundred Eleven.

Article 6, section 4 4. The term of office of the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, State Auditor and Inspector, Attorney General, State Treasurer and Superintendent of Public Instruction shall be four (4) years from the second Monday of January next after their election. The said officers shall be eligible to immediately succeed themselves. No person shall be elected Governor more than two times in succession. Amended July 22, 1975, effective Jan. 8, 1979.
