SECT. 5th. The JUDGEs both of the supreme and inferior courts shall hold their offices during
good behaviour; but for any reasonable cause which shall not be sufficient ground for
impeachment, the Governor shall remove any of them, on the address of three fourths of each
house of the general assembly: Provided however, That the cause or causes for which such
removal may be required, shall be stated at length in the address, and inserted on the journal of
each house.
